Being put into bat first, Afghanistan posted a competitive total of 236/9 in the first innings. The skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi led from the front with a sublime knock of 69 runs, supported by Rahmanullah Gurbaz's composed half-century contribution of 51 runs. Mohammad Nabi's valuable 48 runs further pushed AfghanAtalan's total as he helped the team set a formidable total on a tough batting surface.

In response, Afghanistan's bowling unit showcased remarkable skill and determination. Mohammad Nabi bowled a sensational spell as he returned with impressive figures of 5/17. This was Mohammad Nabi’s maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs and International Cricket.

The Debutant left-arm spin bowling all-rounder, Nangyal Kharoti, was taken for ten runs off his first two deliveries but came back really well and picked up four wickets for 30 runs, putting on an excellent bowling display to help Afghanistan bundle out Ireland for 119 runs and win the game by 117 runs in the end.

Nangyal was named the Stylish Player of the Match for his 4/30, and Mohammad Nabi was named the Player of the Match for his incredible all-round performance of 48 runs with the bat and excellent figures of 5/17 with the ball. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who had scored 172 runs in the series, was named as the player of the series.

With this win, Afghanistan secured the ODI series 2-0, following their 35-run win in the first game with the 2nd ODI match being washed out due to heavy rains in the UAE. The focus now shifts to the upcoming T20I series, as both teams gear up for an exciting three-match T20I series that is all set to commence on Friday, March 15 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE.
