Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) yesterday announced the appointment of Minister of Transport Abdul Hamid Tahmasi and Deputy Minister of Commerce Kamila Seddiqi as new members of the Afghanistan Cricket Board; they replace former Legal Advisor to the President Dr. Abdul Ali Mohammadi and businessman Syed Salman Sadaat.

The new appointments were approved by President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Patron-in-Chief of Afghanistan Cricket Board Mohammad Ashraf Ghani by issuing presidential decree no. 563 following a written request by ACB Chairman Atif Mashal.

Welcoming the appointments of Mr. Tahmasi and Ms. Seddiqi as two new members of the Board, ACB Chairman Atif Mashal said: “I would like to thank His Excellency the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the approval of the new appointments. Both Mr. Tahmasi and Ms. Seddiqi have been close followers and supporters of cricket and I am certain that their contributions will be invaluable in the development of the game in the country.” Mr. Mashal added that the appointment of a female board member is a significant step forward both in terms inclusion, diversity and development of women cricket.
